TWO DAYS A WEEK!!
Camp Ducktails will be offered TWICE a week on Martes and Jueves for preschool children ages 4 – 5 years. Camp is based out of the Rec Hall in Spencer Conservation Area (1121 N. Appleton Road) and runs from 9:00AM to 11:30AM. Each session a new nature topic is introduced. Campers will go on nature walks, listen to a story, complete a craft, and enjoy a snack. A free camp T-shirt is included with the first registered session.

Camp Ducktails Price REGISTRATION OPENS APRIL 1ST
- Boone County Resident: $60 per session. (Each session includes Martes and Jueves.)
- Non-resident: $70 per session.
- Fees are non-refundable after Junio 1st.
- Scholarship: 50% discount – a separate scholarship application must be completed online. You will be notified via email provided if approved. Limited scholarships for all camps are available to qualifying families.
:: 2024 Camp Ducktails Session Themes (ages 4 – 5)
- Week 1: Junio 25th & Junio 27th WHO LIVES IN A TREE? Ever wonder what it would be like to live in a tree? A tree is a home for many different animals. Trees provide food and shelter for many animals and for people. Come find out who has their own “tree house.”
- Week 2: Julio 9th & Julio 11th WHAT’S WILD? Wild animals are called wildlife. They can take care of themselves. Animals that are not wild depend on humans to take care of them. Would you want a mountain lion for a pet? Let’s find out why that’s not a good idea!
- Week 3: Julio 16th & Julio 18th OH, DEER! An animal’s habitat or home is a place that has the right kind of food, water, shelter, and space for it to survive. We will learn what kind of habitat our state mammal, the white-tailed deer, needs.
- Week 4: Julio 23rd & Julio 25th HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT Wild animals must learn to find food and avoid being eaten. They use camouflage to blend in or hide in plain sight. Do you like to play hide-n-seek? We’ll learn some expert tips from nature’s best hiders!
- Week 5: Julio 30th & Aug 1st FISHING FUN Did you know that fish can breathe underwater? We’ll learn all about all the amazing things fish can do. We will play lots of fun fishing games, go fishing, and practice water safety this week.
