What You Need to Know:

  • This is an all outdoor event. Dress appropriately.
  • There will be NO indoor restrooms.
  • Anyone needing handicap parking will need to display a handicap placard.
  • Please notify our office if your plans change and you are unable to attend so that we can open your time slot up for someone else. Call (815)547-7935 or email office@bccdil.org.
  • You will have a 20 minute window to arrive – from 10 minutes before selected time to 10 minutes after. If you arrive earlier than 10 minutes before, you will be directed to a waiting area until your time window opens. If you arrive after your time window closes, you will not be able to enter.
  • There will be food tickets available for purchase but it is cash only. Small bills are appreciated.
  • This is a free event but each vehicle will need a ticket to enter. It will be emailed to you once you complete the reservation form.

Refer to the map below for the location of entrance, exit and parking areas. This will also be included with your ticket. The entrance is located at 825 N. Appleton Road, which is the entrance to Spencer Park, not the Nature Center.

PROGRAM PARTICIPATION WAIVER AND RELEASE OF ALL CLAIMS

As a participant in the Holiday Walk program at the Boone County Conservation District, I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury, and I agree to assume the full risk of any injuries, damages, or loss that I may sustain as a result of participating in any and all activities connected with or associated with my participation, including COVID-19 or any variant thereof. I agree to waive and relinquish all claims I may have as a result of participating in any activities against the Boone County Conservation District and their officers, agents, servants, and employees, from any and all claims from injuries, damages or loss which I may have, or which may accrue to me on account of program activities and agree to indemnify and hold harmless BCCD, its agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, directors, attorneys, accountants, from any claim whether now known or not known, directly or indirectly arising out of any such injury, damage, or COVID-19 or any variant thereof. In case of emergency, I authorize officials of the Boone County Conservation District to secure from any licensed hospital, physician, and/or medical personnel, including ambulances and personnel, any treatment deemed necessary for my immediate care, and I agree that I will be responsible for the payment of any and all medical services rendered on my behalf. I have read and fully understand the above program details, waiver, and release of all claims and permission to secure support.

COVID-19 Public Health

Acknowledgment & Disclosure 1. I understand that to participate in Boone County Conservation District, (BCCD) activities I must be free from COVID-19 symptoms. Symptoms include any one or more of the following: fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, dry cough, shortness of breath, chills, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, and muscle aches. 2. I understand that I must wear a mask at all times while participating in BCCD activities and on BCCD grounds, while required by the CDC and/or IDPH. 3. I will maintain a social distance of 6 feet between myself, all other participants, and the general public. 4. I will wash my hands using CDC and/or IDPH recommended handwashing procedures throughout the day using warm running water and rubbing with soap for at least 20 seconds or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol when handwashing is not available. 5. I understand that no list of restrictions, guidelines or practices will remove 100% of the risk of exposure to COVID-19 as the virus can be transmitted by persons who are asymptomatic and before some people show signs of infection. I understand that I play a crucial role in keeping everyone safe and reducing the risk of exposure by following the practices outlined herein when attending programs with BCCD. I certify that I have read, understand, and agree to comply with the provisions listed above.

PHOTOGRAPHY RELEASE

We (I) the undersigned parent/guardian or participant listed below give permission to photograph the participant of a Boone County Conservation District program on the date(s) listed below. We (I) understand that these photographs will be used for promotional purposes for the Boone County Conservation District in print, media, newspaper, and internet venues.

We (I) understand and agree that neither we (I) or my child/ward will receive financial reimbursement for these photographs and that they are the property of the Boone County conservation District into perpetuity.
