::Natural Considerations

Preserved as a living museum of the vast prairies once present in Boone County, this 10 acre tract is one of the few remnants of prairie remaining in the county.

This was the first land purchase by the BCCD in 1968.

Due to its status as a designated Illinois Nature Preserve, nature study and education are the only activities permitted.
